Having joined the Friends of Bruce Castle Museum as members in 2015, we wished to get more involved in supporting issues relating to Bruce Castle Park. The Friends of Bruce Castle is a long-standing voluntary, community-based group whose focus is to help the Bruce Castle Museum and its park. We felt that a separate Friends' Group for the park would benefit residents and could contribute positively to the maintenance and improvement of the park. We called the first "Friends of Bruce Castle Park meeting" on 13th March 2016; Groundworks, Bruce Castle Museum and the Friends of Bruce Castle supported us with the advertisement. Since then, we have been actively involved in developing activities in the park. Our regular litter pick has become a meeting point for those who love our park and want to contribute.

We strongly believe that by working together, embracing the diversity of residents and engaging with the park users, we will be able to keep Bruce Castle Park as the unique centre of our community for everybody to enjoy!
